Jacky Liang

Assistant Manager

Mr. Jacky graduated from teacher’s college in China. He has been teaching in Canada for seven years. He focuses on student’s fundamental learning, and teaches students differently according to their learning styles. He believes the more productive learning process is listening, speaking, reading and writing. He also makes his teaching relevant to day-to-day living for better understanding to students. With the great passion and patience of being an educator, he is very popular.

May Wu

Operating Manager

Ms. May Wu is the owner and operator of Canaan. She graduated from Guangzhou College of Education with a major in English Education in 1993. She has seven years of high school teaching experience. In 2000, with her great enthusiasm and professional knowledge in education, she completed her Early Childhood Education diploma from Centennial College in record time. She has been working as an educator in Toronto for the past sixteen years with very a good reputation.

Lian Wei


Lian Wei graduated from Fuzhou University in China, with a bachelor degree in Finance and Taxation. In Canada, she was an honours graduate and received a diploma in Computer Programming at Humber College. After raising two daughters, she discovered her passion for working with kids. She has worked at Amazing Day Care and Blessing Day Care, as well as taught Mandarin in a Chinese school. As an early education teacher, Lian utilizes patience, dedication, and responsibility when working with children. Together with a team of amazing and creative teachers, Lian is committed to providing your family with a loving and developmentally sound foundation for a lifetime of learning. At Cannan Centre, she strives to create an environment for learning, while promoting creativity and stimulating the mind.

Crystal Tiffany Inniss


Ms. Inniss is a well-qualified teacher with extensive teaching experience in Ontario schools. She has over 2 years of experience working with young children from 0-12 years old in classroom settings. Being adept at creative program planning, she has the proven ability to meet the needs of children and clients from a diverse cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds. Ms. Inniss also holds multiple credentials such as Early Childhood Education Diploma, Let’s Get Started Program Certificate, as well as First Aid and Infant/Child CPR.

Valerie Osei


 Valerie Osei graduated with Honours Bachelor of Arts with Distinction from the University of Toronto, with a double major in French Language Studies and Political Science. She has an abundance of experience as a coder, including skills in SQL, JSON, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Ruby on Rails. Valerie enjoys playing soccer and running. She was awarded the Roy Foss Leadership Award and has previously worked as a private tutor and French teacher. She is bilingual in French and English.  

Vicky Baboulas


Ms. Baboulas is a World Language Certified Teacher by the Maryland Department of Education. She holds a combined honors degree at York University, and has worked as full-time teacher at Amesbury Middle School in Toronto. Ms. Baboulas has extensive community involvement dating back to 2003, and she also holds numerous professional qualifications such as the Bilingual Fluency Certificate and Mentoring Workshop.

Carol Kizner


Ms. Kizner is a dynamic ESL teacher with foreign experience. She is a native English speaker with 1.5 years of experience teaching English as a Foreign Language at Colegio Antonio Raimondi in Lima, Peru. Domestically, Ms. Kizner also has four years of Special Education teaching experience, working with children in self-enclosed classrooms. As an added bonus, she also speaks Spanish at an intermediate level.

Jenna Wong


Ms. Wong holds numerous years of teaching experience in both Canada and China, having previously worked as an ESL instructor as well as a Teaching Assistant. She graduated from University of Toronto, and has received the Ontario Graduate Scholarship. As a former Undergrad Research Assistant, Ms. Wong has also worked closely with faculty members, and prepared proposals to secure funding from government agencies.

Stacy Kwok

Teacher Assistant

Ms. Kwok is a Gr. 11 student at Bur Oak Secondary School. She volunteered as a Teacher Assistant from 2016 to 2017, during which she graded French tests and quizzes for Grade 7/8 classes, and created posters for the music room to help improve student productivity. She is also an exemplar student with Honor Roll through Grade 8 - 10.
